At Happi Social (operated by OrgAtlas, hereinafter referred to as "we", "us", or "our"), we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. To provide the Services and reconnect friends in meaningful ways, we collect the following categories of information:
- Account Information: When you sign up, we collect your name, username, email address, phone number, and password. You may also provide a profile picture.
- Location Data: To help you discover nearby places, plan events, and meet up with friends, we may collect precise or approximate geolocation data, subject to your browser or device permission.
- Circles and Contacts: We collect information about the groups (circles) you join, your friend requests, and interaction histories. If you choose to sync your address book, we process contact numbers to facilitate connecting with friends.
- Event Data: We collect information about events you organize or join, including title, description, time, location, invitations, attendance status, and chat messages within events.
- Usage Data: We automatically collect information about how you interact with our Services, including log files, device information, IP address, browser type, and operating system.
2. How We Use Your Information
OrgAtlas processes your data on several lawful bases under global data protection frameworks:
- To set up and manage your Happi Social account.
- To coordinate events, send invitations, and manage circle memberships.
- To deliver notifications, event alerts, and transactional messages (via email and SMS via Twilio integration).
- To recommend event locations based on user preferences and geographic closeness.
- To secure our system, detect and prevent fraud, and comply with legal requirements.
3. Sharing of Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Your information is shared only under the following circumstances:
- With Friends & Circles: Your username, profile details, event participation, and circle membership are visible to other users on the platform based on your configuration.
- Service Providers: We share data with third-party vendors who assist us with cloud hosting (DigitalOcean Spaces), database operations, communication delivery (Twilio, AWS SES), and AI services (Google AI). These partners are bound by strict data processing agreements.
- Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.
4. Security of Your Data
We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to prevent accidental loss, unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure of your personal data. All sensitive database columns are encrypted (using Fernet encryption key protocols), and communications are encrypted via SSL/TLS.
5. Your Legal Rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access: The right to request copies of your personal data.
- Rectification: The right to request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure (Right to be Forgotten): The right to request that we erase your personal data. Note that Happi Social uses soft-delete mechanisms to flag deleted rows, but complete deletion is performed in compliance with legal timeframes.
- Portability: The right to request a transfer of your data to another organization.
- Withdraw Consent: The right to withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it to process data.
